I'm still here!

It's been WAY too long since I've posted anything on my personal blog because it's really taken a backseat to my photography business (which is doing incredibly well - I've even booked my first wedding!).

Most things in my life are going fairly well, unless you count the big hiccup of Chris losing his job.  Yep, that's been a huge bummer.  After 11 years with his company, they decided to "reorganize" their accounting department starting with their CFO and controller and are now working their way down the list...his last day is September 2nd.  He did get a nice severance package (and why not after 11 years?!?), so we'll be ok for a while until he finds something new.  In fact, today he has an interview and later this week he has a 2nd interview, so I'm sure things will look up fairly soon.

Kyle is doing exceptionally well!  At his last CF visit he was back into the 50th percentile for height/weight ratio and turned 2 years old a few weeks ago.  We celebrated with a small gathering at our house with just us and his grandparents.  I still think he's too young for real birthday parties and frankly, I don't see the point in them until he has actual friends he can invite.  Maybe when he's 5 we'll think about it.

My only concern with him right now is his speech (or lack thereof).  He knows several words, but doesn't take the initiative to say them, unless it's mama or dada.  He will call for us when he needs us, but other than that everything is nana.  Ugh...I'm sort of dreading making his 2 year appointment with his pediatrician because I don't want them to force him into speech therapy.  I really think eventually things will take off with his vocabulary, but I feel we could wait until he's 3 on therapy.

Other than that, not a whole heck of a lot going on.  It's been all photography for the past few months and I can't believe how busy I have been.  The most busy was 3 shoots in one weekend and that made for a very, very busy week leading up to 2 more shoots the following weekend.  So far I've gotten great feedback on my work and my customer service, which is really, really important to me.  I really want my clients to get a great experience from start to finish...and even then consider me as a friend going forward.  With me, it's not just a business, it's a personal business.

I feel like I should be putting some pics up...but sadly, I have a ton of personal ones that I need to go through.  There really just isn't enough time in the day!

Ok gotta go...always something to be done. :)
