CF Walk | Mother's Day Catch Up

Oh wow, it's been a long time since I've posted anything here.  I guess I've just become so wrapped up in my photography lately.

We had our Great Strides CF Walk on Saturday morning.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect.  Sunny skies and cool temps made for the perfect "walking weather".  We ended up raising $1200 for the CF Foundation, woo hoo!  We had a nice turnout of walkers for Team Kyle - me, Chris, Kyle, my parents, Chris' parents, my sister-in-law and my 2 nieces, and my good friend, Jill.

I was able to capture this beautiful pic of the Minneapolis skyline over Lake Calhoun, too.  This is probably the only shot that really turned out well from the whole day.  I was too busy getting us registered and trying to coordinate our walk, plus DO the walk and couldn't really concentrate on picture taking.

After the walk, we all came home, ate lunch, then we put Kyle down for a nap.  I started to develop a bit of a headache and tried to relax a little while he napped knowing I needed to save a little energy for my surprise Mother's Day dinner night out planned by my wonderful husband.  Come 5:00pm and I still had my headache, but managed to get through the night and enjoy our time out at the Melting Pot downtown (soooooo good!).  But, by the time we got home my headache had managed to double in size and I was down for the count.  PJ's on, I was asleep on the couch by 8:30pm.

The next morning I woke up and thank God, my headache was gone, but we woke up to quite a rainy day.  We had plans to go to my parents' house for a Mother's Day meal and spend time with my family.  Before we got there I dropped off the CD of images at my recent client's house for her.  She wasn't home so I had to put it on her front step since her screen door was locked.  I didn't notice the mailbox until we were headed out of her neighborhood, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to put things in other people's mailboxes anyway.  She did let me know that all was ok when she got home, nothing was too wet.  Thinking back I probably should have put everything in a plastic baggie for her.  Live and learn!

That night ended up being a rough one since Kyle didn't get his nap in.  I ended up sleeping on his floor with him, but luckily after a good nap yesterday afternoon, some lighter PJ's and a cracked window...he slept like a baby last night. :)  We put him down at 8:00pm and he didn't get up until I went in his room at 7:30am to find him already awake playing with his stuffed animals in his crib.  I love those nights followed by those mornings.  I had gotten up 30 minutes prior and already had a nice uninterrupted cup of java.  Lovely way to start off a morning. :)

Well, it's time for me to shower and get out the door.  Gotta do a grocery run this morning before it gets too hot.  85 degrees today!!

  3. Kiara, it was our first walk, too. It was so cool to see how many supporters there are! It literally gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes being there. :)
