When I go back and re-read old posts it always amazes me to see how much I was going through at one time or another and how much different, no not different, stronger I am for it when all is said and done. This blog, for me, is about progress, as I think life in general should be. If you are not learning, growing and striving for more, than what's the point?
In my own personal growth and progress, I feel every day I make a few more steps forward with my photography. I have a new laptop, monitor, Lightroom 3, CS5, and a few new lenses with one more on the way (should have been here 2 days ago - stupid UPS). I'll soon be doing more one-on-one work with my mentor/photographer/friend, Amber Procaccini, to improve my skills and I have a newborn practice shoot tomorrow for a friend I met through the SPN site (which my new lens was supposed to be for, so I'll need to make due with what I've got).
I also have several friends that are super supportive and excited for me and have asked for portraits in the Spring. I'll be doing some shoots for my brother and his family, my nephew and his family, my friend Jill and her family, my friend Robin's twin boys, and I'm hoping to help out another friend with some photos for her catering business, too. All-in-all, things are going really well and I couldn't be happier.
Oh, and in other news, Kyle turned 18 months old on the 1st! A year and a half. Wow. This time is flying. I keep saying it, but it is. Every day he does something new and is forming into this little person with his own agenda. I love every second of it. He's also talking more now, too, or at least attempting to. He can answer us when he wants something now with "yeah, or da" for yes. It's so cute.

We have lots of appointments coming up. His RSV anti-body shot is Monday, his peds appointment is on Wednesday and next month we have his CF clinic and infant PFT appointments. I also need to get him in to the other Children's clinic for new shoes for his club foot. He's still wearing the shoes to bed each night, but is starting to fight it now. It's been a little bit of a struggle, but hopefully it will only be for another year or so.
Overall, he's still very healthy. We have been so darn lucky and entirely blessed.
I don't know if it helps, but you have a stranger out on the west coast reading your posts! Sometimes I feel a little bad when I see my friends with 20+ people commenting on their blogs, but the main purpose of my blog is to get things out I have been dwelling on, to keep a written record of my little boy's development, and to update friends and family that have a true interest in my life. Grad to hear that things are progressing with your photography, and that your little guy is healthy.
ReplyDeleteI don't take the time to comment most days, but I definitely still read :) Kyle looks so grown up in those pictures. Too bad KY is so far away from MN. I'd love to have E&L's pics taken!!
